Practise English game for Nintendo Ds

In my opinion, game-based learning is a great thing. I enjoy playing whenever I can.

I've been playing with Practise English for Nintendo Ds since August. This game has been discontinued, but I got it cheaply in Wallapop.

to practice a little every day.

MyEnglishLab customer service: Case 09113926

I had to contact MyEnglishLab's Customer Service. I asked my teacher to unlock the exercises in unit 6 so I could practice a little. He told me he would do it, but days passed and unit 6 was still locked.

I decided to write an email to Pearson:
Hello,
I want to left MY COURSE. My teacher doesn't activate the teaching units. I'd rather not be in the course and be able to do the exercises at my own pace.

I bought the resource to be able to use it, I don't want to have it all locked.
Thanks

Pearson Customer Support sent me an acknowledgment of receipt. I wrote a second email to Give Feedback:
Hello,
My teacher teaches the lessons in different order.
He unlocked unit 6 and it has locked again.
I sent the incident nº1199777949.
I want to leave My Course and be able to access all the exercises online.
Thanks

I was thinking about starting to complain on social networks, but I got an email from Pearson few days later:
Dear Luisa,
Thank you for contacting Pearson technical support.
Unfortunately, you cannot be removed from the course by yourself. What I can advise you is to talk to your teacher and request him to delete you from the class or to unblock the units if you prefer.
Also, we are not allowed to eliminate the students from the course or unlock the units, since this is a function that belongs only to the teachers.
If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us again.
Thank you very much.
Kind Regards,

I was frustrated and decided to practice with Maria:
Dear Maria,
I appreciate the answer, but I need an urgent solution.
How can you not give me a solution? On Thursday I have an exam and I will not be able to practice the conditionals in unit 6 because my teacher doesn't answer me.
If my teacher had died, could anyone unsubscribe me?
If I had changed schools, I would have to be able to take advantage of my book!
When these things happen, you could give another access code. I don't mind losing progress, I just want to practice with the exercises.
Too bad, not being able to practice : '- (
By the way, sending the satisfaction survey is a bad joke.
I look forward to reciving a solution.
Regards.

Then a second Support Technician contact me:

However, events were developing at breakneck speed: I got several satisfaction survey that got me very angry, so I contact through social medias... and just about the same time my teacher fixed the problem.

I have to say that I was kind of rude because I was angry and a little nervous about the exam. The problem was resolved, but I've opened a can of worms and now it's difficult to go off the matter. I have continued to receive and answer messages for days:

Dear Kateryna,

I'm sorry but you're wrong. My experience was not satisfactory. I think your platform should  allow their users manage their courses.

However, I'm really pleased to tell you that my teacher finally unblocked the Unit 6. He called to Technical Support in Spain and fixed the problem.

I thank you for your interest and I hope I don't have to contact you anymore this course.

All the best,

November's Speaking Corner

Our teacher is an actor and loves speaking about cinema. I passed an enjoyable time with Mary, MªJosé and some other students talking about actresses at the November's Speaking Corner.

American English Pronunciation Podcast

Our alphabet has five vowels, a, e, i, o, and u, but English has 15 vowel sounds. Don't confuse letters with sounds. The old terminology of long and short vowels doesn't describe the sound.

The American English long vowel sounds: /eɪ, i, ɑɪ, oʊ, yu/

key words: cake /keɪk/, keep /kip/, bike /baɪk/, home /hoʊm/, cute /kjut/

/eɪ/ long a: faith, aim, play, grade, safe, may
/i/ long e: each, eat, team, deep, free
/ɑɪ/ long i: ice, bright, smile, shy, fly
/oʊ/ long o: own, both, drove, glow, throw
/yu/ long u: youth, huge, pure, few, view

The American English short vowel sounds /æ, ɛ, ɪ, ɑ, ʌ/

key words: cat /kæt/, bed /bed/, sit /sɪt/, top /tɑp/, sun /sʌn/

/æ/ short a (short a): add, after, bath, plan, crash
/ɛ/ short e (short e): end, enter, bend, yes, dress
/ɪ/ short i (short i): it, ill, gift, since, drip
/ɑ/ short o (short o): odd, on, box, lot, rock
/ʌ/ short u (short u): up, us, jump, luck, fun
