When I was a little girl, I learned French at school. My teachers were close to retirement and when new teachers came, they teached English to my little brothers.
I had enough classmates who learned English in after-school classes and I asked my parents for. My mother told me: "But sweety, what are you going to need it for?" We were many at home, they also did not let me take typing classes. :-/
Time passed I got older, I started working, I formed a family ... Sometimes I needed English, but I raffled off as much as I could.
A few years ago, after a serious health crisis in my family, my husband encouraged me to go to an academy. I started from 0 when I was 39 years old. I had some fantastic teachers, but when I was just taking a course the health crisis came back and I had to stop being.
Two years ago, I saw an ad in www.santfeliu.cat: Cornellà's EOI was going to do some special courses at IES Martí i Dot in Sant Feliu. I decided to try again and I started another time from the beginning in a group of older people.
Special courses are interesting and fun, but I have been trying to access the ordinary courses. It is difficult because there are many students and few places, but I can not afford an academy for a long time.
Finally, this year I was lucky and I got a place. I'm happy even though I know I have a hard job ahead.
