Brainbox Once Upon a Day

The Three Wise Men brought me a Brainbox game last Christmas. This year I took advantage of the holidays to play some games with my family. My goal is to practice some English, but my children easily go competitive.

I must organize short games. If we played for a long time, they would always end up arguing.

Jumanji. The Next Level

I saw a sign at the Cornellà EOI announcing a projection in the original version with Spanish subtitles of Jumanji, The Next Level. I think is terrific!

December's Speaking Corner

Our teacher proposed to us speaking about a controversial subject: the #MeToo movement. My friend Mary and I had the opportunity to talk with advanced students and we didn't recoil even for a moment.

Rape /reɪp/ -> Violación
Underage /ˌʌndərˈeɪdʒ/ -> Menor de edad
For instance /fə-ˈrin(t)-stənts/ ->Por ejemplo
Show business /ʃoʊ/ /ˈbɪznəs/ ->La farándula
Witch-hunt /ˈwichˌhənt/ ->Caza de brujas

Knives out

Last year I won the Tout about Kino Contest at the Cornellà EOI. The prize was a gift card for the Verdi cinemas. I've been waiting for the right movie to invite my family. Finally, my husband proposed me Knives out, a fun and modern-day murder story where everyone is a suspect.

I think the title is taken from the knives are out (for someone). I looked up that idiom and I found it's used for saying that people are being very unfriendly or are deliberately causing problems, that is they're ready to blame or punish someone for something often in a way that is unfair.
