Last May's Online Speaking Corner

I was late to the last May Speaking Corner because I had a previous meeting about our evaluation.  I apologized for being late, and we chatted for a while about our favorite foods.

Rat seized the opportunity, as usual, and showed us the worms she brought from Thailand. Delicious!

We are at the end of our English course and I'm reviewing all we've studied. I've been doing the online exercises in MyEnglishLab. I'm proud I got the checkmark in all the units till the 8th and I hope I'll finish on time the lasts units.

May's Online Speaking Corner III: beauty canons

I met again my classmates Mary and Marce in the 3rd May's Online Speaking Corner.

We started watching some famous people's pictures.  We saw the original photo and its version edited with Photoshop, and then we talked about beauty canons and how they affect women and men.

Little by little our speech became deepest, and we discuss the fashion industry, the anorexia, beauty surgeries... We had a good time.

May's Online Speaking Corner II: holiday destinations

Our second May's Online Speaking Corner was a bit masochistic. We are still locked down because of the coronavirus, but we talked for one hour about pictures from the holidays.

May's Online Speaking Corner I: Edward Hopper

In the first May's Online Speaking Corner we talked about some paintings by Edward Hopper, who is an American painter that Joan loves.

To be honest, I don't like quite much that painter. I've always thought that his work is very depressing. However, his paintings were useful to help us to invent stories about their characters. In fact, we laughed a lot.

National Theatre Live's Frankenstein

I knew through the EOI Cornellà de Llobregat information channel that the National Theatre is making the plays accessible to thousands free of charge during the coronavirus pandemic.

I watched Frankenstein on the National Theatre's YouTube channel, performed by Benedict Cumberbatch as the creature and Jonny Lee Miller as Victor Frankenstein.

More Skype sessions with Ingrid

I enjoy very much the Skype sessions with our Conversational English Teacher. We normally talk for several minutes, and then she shows me some mistakes I did in my speech.

She writes in the chat window the keywords and correct structures. Since I got an Ethernet wire my connection is much better and now I can follow the sessions online without a problem.
