Gymglish's Online English Lessons

We joined the EnglishClub when we started the classes because our first task was to participate in a forum. I got many emails with suggestions and advertisements and I usually didn't pay attention, but I read one that offered 15 days free trial at Gymglish.

I couldn't resist the magical word: FREE, so I signed up and I took advantage of the offer.

November's Online Speaking Corner

Since we changed the schedule and the face to face class is on Thursday, it is very difficult for me to attend the Speaking Corners.

As the session on 12th November was canceled, my last chance in the current month was on 26th November, so I managed to connect from the mobile when my husband pick up me at the EOI. I lost the connection for a while in the lift, but I connected again at home and we continued talking about where we are living.

#JokesProject2020: Challenge achieved!

I finished my Thirty Days Challenge yesterday and I recorded a video to explain it. I don't have too many followers, but if someone arrives here they will understand what means #JokesProject2020.

Spoiler: my Thirty Days Challenge was to find every day a joke in English I could understand and I used Twitter because our teacher said we had to show proofs of our Challenge.

Death by Diamonds - A virtual murder mystery

I found a very interesting activity on Eventbrite, an online murder mystery challenge by MurderedforMoney - Murder Mystery Theatre

I paid £10,30 for a ticket that allowed me to participate in a virtual game online for 5 days. The organizers sent me four emails from Monday to Thursday that included video footage, clue sheets, and crime scene photographs. On Friday, I took part in a crazy suspect interrogation live session.

The actors were superb and the other sleuths asked very clever questions. I didn't guess who was the murderer, but I had fun.

November's English Conversation Meetup

I saw on eventbrite.com an English Conversation Meetup and I booked it because my Speaking Corner at Cornellà's EOI was canceled.

The activity was led by Claudia Olguin, who is the Coordinator of Community-Led Initiatives at Aurora Public Library, located in Canada. She told me that the activity was originally a face-to-face meeting organized with the purpose of helping newcomers to the country who need to improve their English. However, when the pandemic started they had to move to an online format, and they have now the opportunity to share experiences with people all over the world.

When I book a ticket on eventbrite.com, one of the most difficult things is figuring out what time I'll have to connect, so I usually prefer events in The UK. However, the meetup was from 10:30 to 11:30 AM Eastern Time and it's fine because that's from 4:30 to 5:50 PM in Barcelona.

We spent an hour revising some English idioms that are used in the morning and in the evening.
