Virtual Life Drawing with Anti Diet Riot Club

I attended a Virtual Life Drawing session with Anti Diet Riot Club. I saw this activity on Eventbrite and I thought it was perfect for me because it combined art and English, so I couldn't help booking it.

The workshop was led by @harri_rose_ and Becky Amoi Young aka @sloppy_spice, who was the session's model. It wasn't a conventional drawing class, they proposed fun drawing 'games' and activities to inspire creativity, and we drew sketches from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. I hadn't drawn nude models for ages, so I enjoyed the workshop.

Hunters (Season 1, ep. 1-10)

I started to watch Hunters before the pandemic, but I finished the series after several months without finding a while for me. I think this is not the kind of series you can watch with your children because there are some hard and crazy scenes sprinkled with many swear words.

The Case of the Missing Marquess. An Enola Holmes Mystery

I watched the film Enola Holmes and I knew it was based on the first book in a young adult fiction series written by Nancy Springer. I liked it, so I thought it could be a good idea to read the book.

Outreach session about Covid-19

Since La Marató is going to raise funds to fight against the current pandemic, Cornellà's EOI  organized an outreach session about Covid-19.

The lecture was led by researcher Andrée Yeramian who works at the UDL · Biomedical Research Institute and speaks six languages. She spoke about what is Coronavirus disease, how is its transmission, who presents a higher risk, and how it can be prevented.

In addition, she explained the main differences between viral or diagnostic tests and talked about the research projects not only in order to find a vaccine but also to search for treatments that would improve Covid-19 prognostic.

Unfortunately, we knew well the topic but it was very interesting and I think that is a fantastic way to advertise La Marató.

December's English Conversation Meetup

I joined again the monthly English Conversation Meetup organized by Aurora Public Library in Aurora, Ontario.

Christmas is coming, but they prefer more inclusive topics because society is multicultural. So we talked about English Idioms related to “Shopping” and “Budget and Cost”, a topic that could interest everybody.
