November's Online Speaking Corner II & III

I broke yesterday my own record when I attended to two Online Speaking Corner sessions the same day. I had signed up for both because the system was failing and I received many cancellations. So I arranged with my classmates Xavi and Cori to attend the sessions together to make sure they got done.

We watched a few horror shorts and talked about them and about our preferences in horror stories. Whether we loved psychological or supernatural horror movies.

Ghosts (Season 1, ep. 1-6)

I was looking for a creepy movie on Halloween when Movistar suggested the BBC series Ghosts. The story starts when a young woman that is looking for her first home inherits from a distant relative a big country house. She and her husband move there, but the house turns out to be a mansion haunted by many invisible ghosts from different historical periods.

I finished watching the first season and I started watching the second one because I liked it. It is a sitcom that reminds me of somehow The Money Pit.

Introduction to Data Studio, course by Google Analytics Academy

Although Google started as a search engine more than twenty years ago, nowadays it has become the internet giant that provides us multiple services like Google Maps or Google Classroom.

We can find several free online courses that help users to learn about Google's measurement tools at Google Analytics Academy. I've recently completed the Introduction to Data Studio course.

The Great British Bump Off - Virtual Murder Mystery 5 Day Challenge

I thought I wasn't going to play any mystery this month because I'm very busy. However, I received a special offer one day sale on tickets for The Great British Bump Off, and I couldn't help succumbing to the temptation. I got a 50% off ticket  on eventbrite because this mystery challenge was first presented in early 2020, during the first Coronavirus lockdown.

I didn't mind the mystery wasn't original since the interrogatory was a live session on zoom. I think the Murdered for money actors and actresses are really good. They change with each character and are able to improvise when they interacting live. I enjoyed the performance even though I didn't guess who the culprit was.

A Night of Bond with Janine Johnson

My husband invited me to the concert A Night of Bond with Janine Johnson, which was held to pay tribute to the most famous British secret agent. I enjoyed it  very much. The singer and the musicians performed an amazing show. It was a pity that we wore face masks, because it would have been perfect if we could have "a medium dry vodka martini, lemon peel. Shaken, not stirred". 😋

November's Online Speaking Corner

I'm very happy because this week's Online Speaking Corner took place eventually. We were three people and Joan asked us to imagine that we were photographers and we had to talk about our story and our work. Besides, we had to ask questions to the other students/photographers.

When I saw the pictures set It was supposed I had taken,  I decided to act like an 80-year-old black woman photographer that had brought up in the Bronx, New York.

November's English Conversation Meetup

I received yesterday  an email announcing that this week's Speaking Corner have been cancelled. Fortunatelly, I have other activities to practice my speaking and I joined today the monthly English Conversation Meetup at the Aurora Public Library in Ontario, Canada.

We talked about books and television.
